Introduction
The Natarang Drama Club of YCCE organized a theatre workshop titled “Natyavivek 2.0” on 24 January 2026 at EL 205. Theatre plays a significant role in enhancing creativity, communication, confidence, and emotional intelligence among students. The workshop aimed at developing theatrical awareness, artistic expression, confidence, and communication skills among students.
Objectives of the Workshop
- To introduce students to the fundamentals of theatre and acting techniques.
- To develop confidence, stage presence, and expressive skills.
- To enhance communication, teamwork, and emotional understanding.
- To provide practical exposure to character development and improvisation.
- To promote theatre as a medium of creative and social expression.
Methodology
The workshop was conducted using an interactive and activity-based approach. It was divided into two structured sessions combining theoretical explanations with hands-on practical exercises. Participants actively engaged in warm-up routines, improvisation, role-play, group discussions, and performance tasks. Continuous interaction ensured an engaging learning environment.
Session I: Fundamentals of Theatre
Conducted by Mr. Swapnil Bohate, the session focused on basic principles of theatre including body language, posture, facial expressions, voice modulation, breathing techniques, and stage movement. Participants engaged in physical and vocal warm-up exercises. Improvisational activities helped students overcome stage fear and understand spontaneous expression. Discipline, observation, coordination, and teamwork were highlighted as essential elements of performance.
Session II: Advanced Theatre Practices
Conducted by Mr. Harshad Salpe, this session emphasized character development, emotional depth, script interpretation, and stage ethics. Participants explored psychological and emotional dimensions of characters and portrayed them effectively. Group-based activities encouraged creativity and collaboration, followed by constructive feedback.

Conclusion
The workshop “Natyavivek 2.0” was successfully conducted under the guidance of Faculty In-Charge Dr. Aniket Munshi Sir, Student Activity In-Charge Prof. Vaibhaw Doifode Sir, and Student Activity Assistant Dean Dr. Supriya Thombre Ma’am. The event was coordinated by Club Coordinator Kalyani Karule Ma’am. The initiative significantly contributed to the holistic development of students and strengthened the cultural and creative environment of the institution.
