IEEE Chapter

The IEEE CS YCCE Chapter, in collaboration with the Department of Computer Technology, successfully hosted an expert session by Dr. Hironori Washizaki, IEEE CS World President. Dr. Washizaki shared valuable insights on software engineering, architecture, and global collaboration in computing, inspiring students and faculty alike. The session had students from CSE-IOT, AIDS and Computer Technology branch ranging from 3rd to 5th sem.

Under IEEE CS, YCCE chapter a workshop on 29th December 2025, by Department of AIDS organized a “Green AI Lab for Sustainable Computing with Python.” The workshop was conducted in offline mode at the Computer Lab–I. Students from undergraduate programs actively participated in the workshop. Which was conducted by Prof. Kalyani Karule and Prof. Sharayu Sangekar. During the workshop, the Speaker introduced the concept of Green AI and emphasized the importance of sustainable and energy-efficient computing in modern artificial intelligence systems.

Under IEEE CS,YCCE the Department of Computer Technology, Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering (YCCE), Nagpur, organized an Expert Talk on Smart and Secure Mobility with Soft Computing on 5th February 2026. The session was conducted with the objective of exposing students and faculty members to emerging technologies in intelligent transportation systems and security-aware mobility solutions. The session was delivered by a distinguished academician Dr Zuhaina Zakaria, Professor, Universiti Teknologi MARA an inspiring leader, and a globally respected IEEE volunteer, who shared valuable insights into the role of soft computing techniques in modern smart mobility applications.

Under IEEE.CS, YCCE the Department of Computer Technology, Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering (YCCE), Nagpur, organized an Expert Talk on Cybersecurity 13th January 2026. The session introduced students to the fundamentals of cybersecurity and highlighted its critical role in protecting digital systems, data, and networks in today’s technology-driven world. The speaker  explained Mr. Manish Barapatre, Vice President, Barclays, NewJersey, USA. The key cybersecurity concepts, current threat landscapes, and the importance of secure practices in modern organizations.

Hack Nexus 2.0 – Innovate Faster with AI was organized on 31st January 2026 as a full-day hackathon by the Department of Computer Technology, Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, and Computer Science & Engineering (IoT) under the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC).The event witnessed participation from 270+ students forming 55+ teams. The program was supported and coordinated by Prof. Prachi Gawande and Prof. Charvi Suri. External participants included eminent industry and academic experts who joined the event as guest speakers and mentors.

✨Mechfiesta-2024✨

Mechfiesta-2024 was a two-day technical fest celebrated with great enthusiasm and participation from students, faculty, and industry professionals. Held on the 23rd and 24th of August 2024, the event served as a platform for budding engineers, innovators, and cultural enthusiasts to showcase their talents. The fest featured a total of 19 events categorized into three broad categories:
8 technical events, 5 cultural events, and 5 sports events.
Total 517 entries were received in this event.

Technical Events conducted under MECHFIESTA-2024

Robotics Challenge: Teams built autonomous and remote-controlled robots for various tasks and obstacle courses.

Bridge Building Contest: Students competed to design and construct the strongest bridge using limited resources.

Coding Hackathon: A 12-hour non-stop coding marathon aimed at solving real-world problems.

CAD Designing: Participants showcased their computer-aided design (CAD) skills by modeling complex structures.

RC Car Racing: Students designed, built, and raced remote-controlled cars on a custom track.

Tech Quiz: A quiz on engineering concepts and latest technological advancements.

Paper Presentation: Teams presented research on various emerging technologies.

Tech Expo: A display of innovative projects and prototypes developed by students.

✨Mechfiesta-2025✨

Mechfiesta 2025, the annual technical and sports fest of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering, Nagpur, was successfully conducted on 22nd and 23rd August 2025. The two-day fest aimed to provide students with a platform to showcase their technical skills, physical strength, creativity, teamwork, and competitive spirit through a wide range of well-structured events.
