  1. Department of Civil Engineering; YCCE and Institution of Engineers organized and conducted the online 40 hours duration Certification Course on “WaterGEMS” from dated on 02/07/2024 to 22/07/2024. Harshal Warade and Mr. Khalid S. Ansari, Assistant Professor, Civil Engineering Department were the expertise for this course. Certification Course on WaterGEMS has included different technical tools of water supply system.

A half-day workshop on the opportunity to incubate fresh business ideas was successfully conducted on 30th July 2024 by the Department of Civil Engineering, YCCE, Nagpur, in collaboration with Lemon India and the Technology Business Incubation (TBI), YCCE. This event, held at the Conference Hall (CE 206) from 10:30 am to 01:30 pm, aimed to provide a platform for innovative business ventures, empowering students with entrepreneurial aspirations.The workshop was specifically designed for students of III, V, and VII semesters (A and B). A total of 35 students participated actively, showcasing their keen interest in exploring the entrepreneurial landscape.

Department of Civil Engineering; YCCE organized Guest Lecture on “MBA Mastery: Strategic Approaches to Ace Competitive Exams” on 12th August 2024. Prof. S. G. Kalamkar, Prof. K. S. Ansari, Prof. P. S, Chakole and Prof. S. K. Kamble hosted the program under the Under the Aegis of IQAC (IEI) , ACT. The Guest lecture started with the welcome ceremony by Prof. S. G. Kalamkar to the Guest (Speaker) Mr. Mehul Zunzunwala (Director, T.I.M.E. Nagpur). Mr. Mehul Zunzunwala began the session with an innovative introduction activity, where students were asked to introduce themselves in a unique manner. They wrote down their life goals and the steps they plan to take to achieve them. He highlighted the importance of focus and purpose in driving personal and professional growth across all areas of life.

Department of Civil Engineering; YCCE organized Guest Lecture on “AutoCAD User Interface and Basic Tools” on 14th August 2024. Prof. S. G. Kalamkar, Prof. K. S. Ansari, Prof. P. S, Chakole and Prof. S. K. Kamble hosted the program under the Under the Aegis of IQAC (IEI) and ACT. The Guest lecture started with the welcome ceremony by Prof. S. G. Kalamkar to the Guest (Speaker) Mr. Manas Gahane (Alumni 2024 Batch). Mr. Manas Gahane, an alumnus of YCCE of batch 2024, provided students with valuable insights into navigating the interface: command line, toolbars, and menus.

Department of Civil Engineering; YCCE organized Guest Lecture on “Entrepreneurship: The Challenges and Triumphs that Create a Successful Entrepreneur” on 14th August 2024. Prof. S. G. Kalamkar, Prof. K. S. Ansari, Prof. P. S, Chakole and Prof. S. K. Kamble   hosted the program under the Under the Aegis of IQAC (IEI) , ACT. The Guest lecture started with the welcome ceremony by Prof. S. G. Kalamkar to the Guest (Speaker) Mr.Jaisingh Chavhan. Mr. Jaisingh Krushnaraoji Chavhan is the State President of Bhartiya Janta Party Divyang Seal, Maharashtra, and Chairman of Ranjana Group of Industries Pvt. Ltd, Nagpur. He also serves as President of Krushnaranjana Multipurpose Organization, which focuses on the welfare of persons with disabilities. With an M.B.A. in Finance and multiple diplomas in areas such as Export Packaging and Poultry Farming, Mr. Chavhan has held several key positions in social welfare and industrial sectors. He is widely recognized for his contributions, having received numerous national awards for empowering persons with disabilities.

Department of Civil Engineering; in association with Institute Innovation Council, YCCE has conducted the Expert talk on “Angel Investment/ VC Funding Opportunity for Early-Stage Entrepreneurs” on 31st August 2024. The talk was co-ordinated by Ms.Charuta Waghmare with the expert Mr.Ishan Kukade, CEO , City Central Credit Cooperative”.The aim of the talk was to make the students aware about key charactericstics of the Early Stage Entrepreneurs which includes Idea Development, Market Validation,  Limited Resources, High Risk. An Expert, Mr.Ishan Kukade focusses on several challenges, including limited funding, lack of market validation, and operational uncertainties

The Department of Civil Engineering conducted domain specific training program at Department of Civil Engineering from 18,19 and 20th September 2024 for VII semester students. The program is chaired and inaugurated by S.P. Raut and Dr. H.R. Nikhade, Mr. V.D. Jayle. The first lecture on the topic of Reinforced concrete composite material delivered by Mr. Er. V. P. Kalambe. In this lecture experts focus on different constituent materials in reinforced concrete with very different properties that complement each other. In this lecture students can also understand the Reinforced concrete application. The second lecture on topic RMC Guideline delivered by Sudarshan Chavan. In this lecture experts focus on the raw materials required for the preparation of RMC are coarse aggregate, fine aggregate (river sand/ m-sand), Cement/fly ash and Water for RMC application. The third lecture on topic recent trends in Civil Engineering delivered by Er. Saurabh Kurve.

Department of Civil Engineering, YCCE organized Guest Lecture on “Career Guidance on Study Abroad by Shah Overseas”. The program was organized by Ms. Snehal Kamble, Ms. Pallavi S. Chakole, Mr. Sagar Dhengare, Mr. Sanket Kalamkar and student activity in-charge Dr. Khalid S. Ansari in association with Association of Technocrats (ACT), IEI Students Chapter, ASCE Students chapter under the Aegis of IQAC. The program is chaired by Mr. Nikit Shah (Alumina- CE, YCCE) (Director of Shah Overseas) on Friday 20th September 2024.  Mr. Nikit Shah started the session with a very creative introductory by organizing a quiz where all the students of V semester participated with the enthusiasm. He discussed career options for engineers, and various opportunities for civil engineers oversea in the current era.

The Department of Civil Engineering at Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering (YCCE), Nagpur, successfully organized a one-day workshop titled “Tech Tools for Tomorrow: Mastering Civil Engineering Software” on 04th October 2024. This workshop was coordinated by Dr. Dhiraj G. Agrawal and was conducted for the III Semester civil engineering students to introduce them to the essential software tools used in modern civil engineering.The expert speaker for the workshop was Mr. Sohel Mansuri, a renowned professional from Model Edge, Nagpur, Maharashtra, with extensive experience in civil engineering software applications. Mr. Mansuri delivered an insightful and interactive session covering crucial software like AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, and Revit, which are widely used in the industry for design, analysis, and project management.

The Department of Civil Engineering conducted One Day Workshop on Auto Desk 3ds Max Software” at Department of Civil Engineering on 09th October, 2024 from 10:00 am to 5: 00 pm for B section V semester students. The program is chaired and inaugurated by Dr. S.P. Raut and Dr. H.R. Nikhade in Presence Chief Guest of program Mr. Sagar Deogirkar, Trainer, CADD Centre ,Nagpur.

Department of Civil Engineering; YCCE organized Half Day Workshop on Modern Rainwater Harvesting: Need to Save Environment” on 17th October 2024. Pallavi S.Chakole hosted and organized the program, in association with association of Technocrats (ACT), IEI Students Chapter, ASCE Students chapter under the Aegis of IQAC. The workshop started with the welcome ceremony by Ms. Pallavi S.Chakole to the Guest Dr Shrikant Arunrao Tekade Assistant Professor, Civil Engg. Department, Government college of engineering Nagpur.The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of rainwater harvesting and equip participants with knowledge of modern techniques to conserve water and protect the environment.

The Association of Civil Technocrats (ACT), Student Council, IEI Student Chapter, ASCE, IQAC of Department of Civil Engineering & under the banner YCCE Ruby Jubilee. YCCE, Nagpur, organized a half-day workshop on “Application of Bluebeam for Civil Engineering Students” dated 23rd October 2024, Er Rohit Raut (Alumni CE), & Er Raghav Vidyasagar (Alumni CE), was the Project Estimator from HSM Edifice Nagpur. They  delivered lectures to the students on “Application of Bluebeam for Civil Engineering Students”. The half-day workshop is based on the software industry, leveraging their technical expertise, and combining it with software skills Bluebeam’s CAD plugin allows users to export 2D and 3D PDFs to send to stakeholders. Quantifying estimations: Students can use visual search to count assets, create legend lists, and take linear or area measurements. Data insights This half-day workshop teaches participants how to utilize Bluebeam software, including the necessary tools, concepts, applications, and instructions. The total number of students who attended the program was 66.

Department of Civil Engineering; YCCE organized Half Day Workshop on “Strengthening of Building (Nagar Parishad, Sindi Railway) by Using Steel Section” on 24th October 2024. Snehal K. Kamble hosted and organized the program, in association with association of Technocrats (ACT), IEI Students Chapter, ASCE Students chapter under the Aegis of IQAC.The workshop started with the welcome ceremony by Ms. Snehal Kamble to the Guest Mr. Nimish Patankarr, Structural designer and RCC consultant, Nagpur. Real-life examples of successful building strengthening projects using steel were presented. Notable projects included retrofitting heritage structures and modern urban buildings. Participants engaged in a Q&A session, raising concerns and discussing challenges specific to their ongoing projects. The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Pallavi S. Chakole, expressing gratitude to the speakers, organizers, and participants for their active involvement. The event underscored the importance of adopting advanced construction techniques to address the growing challenges of urban infrastructure development.

The Civil Engineering Department of Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering (YCCE), Nagpur, IQAC, IEI and ACT successfully organized a half-day workshop on Scope and Relevance of Foreign Languages on 6th November 2024. The workshop, spearheaded by Prof. S.W. Dhengare, aimed to provide students with insights into the importance of foreign languages in the context of global career opportunities and cultural exchanges.The workshop commenced with a warm welcome by Dr.S.P.Raut, who highlighted the growing demand for multilingual professionals in various industries. The session was inaugurated with a brief introduction to the topic and its relevance for engineers aspiring to work in international markets. 41 students participated in this program.

The Department of Civil Engineering at Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering (YCCE) successfully organized a half-day workshop titled “German Language for Civil Engineers: A Gateway to Global Opportunities” association with ACTI, IEU Students Chapter, ASCE students’ chapter & the Aegis of IQAC on 6th November 2024. The event aimed to introduce students to the fundamentals of the German language and its relevance in civil engineering, particularly in global career opportunities.

Department of Civil Engineering; YCCE organized Half day workshop on “How to built-up oneself for corporate life” on 13th November 2024. Prof. S. G. Kalamkar, Prof. K. S. Ansari, Prof. P. S, Chakole and Prof. S. K. Kamble   hosted the program under the Under the Aegis of IQAC (IEI) , ACT. The Half day workshop started with the welcome ceremony by Prof. S. G. Kalamkar to the Guest (Speaker) Mr. Viraj Nandurkar (Alumini 2024 Batch) currently working as Project Estimator in  HSM EDIFICE Construction Services, Nagpur. Mr. Viraj Nandurkar began the session with an interactive introduction, where participants were encouraged to share their perceptions of corporate life. The facilitator emphasized the importance of soft skills, professional communication, and a growth mindset as essential traits for thriving in the corporate environment. The workshop was structured into three main segments Understanding Corporate Culture, Developing Key Skills and Personal Branding and Professional Etiquette.

The Association of Civil Technocrats (ACT), Student Council, IEI Student Chapter, ASCE, IQAC of Department of Civil Engineering & under the banner YCCE Ruby Jubilee, YCCE, Nagpur, organized a Half-Day Workshop on “Design and Maintenance of ETP” dated 30th November 2024, by Er. Ketan Mase (Alumni CE), a Structural Designer at M/S P.T. Mase & Associates. He lectured the students on “The structural design of an ETP depends on various factors, including the type and volume of effluent, site conditions, and regulatory requirements”. The half-day workshop is based on Material selection based on tanks typically made of reinforced concrete or steel, with seismic loads depending on the effluent’s chemical properties and the required durability. Ketan also discusses how Proper design ensures that the ETP can handle the specific effluent characteristics of an industry, while regular maintenance ensures continuous and efficient operation. By adhering to these principles, industries can minimize their environmental impact and comply with regulatory requirements. The Total number of students who attended the program was 47 postgraduate students from MTech Structural and Environmental Engineering, including Ist and IInd Years.

Harshal Warade and Mr. Khalid S. Ansari, Assistant Professor, Civil Engineering Department were the expertise for this course. Certification Course on WaterGEMS has included different technical tools of water supply system. The 40 hours of this certification course was alienated into sessions of 2 hours per day. Timing of lectures were from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm on all working days except holidays.

The Association of Civil Technocrats (ACT), Student Council, IEI Student Chapter, ASCE, IQAC of Department of Civil Engineering & under the banner YCCE Ruby Jubilee, YCCE, Nagpur, organized a One Day Workshop on ““Metro Rails and Traction” dated 29th April 2025, by Mr. Harshavardhan Fuke (Alumni ME), CEO, Supertech Mechanical Engineers Pvt Ltd and HMR Engineering. The expert focuses on the Key Components of Metro Rail Systems. He explains the Traction Systems in Metro Rails like Overhead Catenary System and Third Rail System. Lastly he explore the working of Spring Type Auto Tensioning Device in Railway. Total number of students who attended the program was 62 undergraduate students of Second Year BTech Civil Engineering.

The Association of Civil Technocrats (ACT), Student Council, IEI Student Chapter, IQAC of Department of Civil Engineering & under the banner YCCE Ruby Jubilee, YCCE, Nagpur, organized a Half-Day Workshop on “Use of Total Station, DGPS, &3D scanner in land survey.” dated 2nd May 2025, by Er. Vikas Pise. He delivered a detailed session on modern surveying instruments including Total Station, Differential GPS (DGPS), and 3D Scanners. He explained their working mechanisms, accuracy, and practical field applications. His lecture emphasized how these tools play a vital role in Land mapping and layout, Construction planning, Environmental monitoring. Students participated in a live demonstration session where they interacted with total Station for angle and distance measurements, DGPS for high-accuracy positioning& 3D Laser Scanner for detailed digital terrain modeling . Total 63 undergraduate students from the fourth semester participated in the program.

Ms.Snehal K. Kamble hosted and organized the program along with committee members Prof. P.S.Chakole, Prof. S.W.Dhengare and Prof. S.G.Kalamkar, in association with association of Technocrats (ACT), IEI Students Chapter, ASCE Students chapter under the Aegis of IQAC.The workshop started with the welcome ceremony by Dr. K.S.Ansari (Student activity Incharge) to the Guest Dr. Amit Bijon Dutta, Head Civil and Structural Engineering, Mecgale Pneumatics Pvt. Ltd., Nagpur.

A half-day workshop on “Concept and Methods of RCC (Reinforced Cement Concrete)” was organized to enhance the understanding of students and professionals about the fundamental principles, design methods, and practical applications of RCC in construction. The session aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and field-level implementation of RCC structures.Around 85 students of VI semester (Section A and B) participated successfully in the program, during and at the end students interacted with sir about their queries.

✨Mechfiesta-2024✨

Mechfiesta-2024 was a two-day technical fest celebrated with great enthusiasm and participation from students, faculty, and industry professionals. Held on the 23rd and 24th of August 2024, the event served as a platform for budding engineers, innovators, and cultural enthusiasts to showcase their talents. The fest featured a total of 19 events categorized into three broad categories:
8 technical events, 5 cultural events, and 5 sports events.
Total 517 entries were received in this event.

Robotics Challenge: Teams built autonomous and remote-controlled robots for various tasks and obstacle courses.

Bridge Building Contest: Students competed to design and construct the strongest bridge using limited resources.

Coding Hackathon: A 12-hour non-stop coding marathon aimed at solving real-world problems.

CAD Designing: Participants showcased their computer-aided design (CAD) skills by modeling complex structures.

RC Car Racing: Students designed, built, and raced remote-controlled cars on a custom track.

Tech Quiz: A quiz on engineering concepts and latest technological advancements.

Paper Presentation: Teams presented research on various emerging technologies.

Tech Expo: A display of innovative projects and prototypes developed by students.

✨Mechfiesta-2025✨

Mechfiesta 2025, the annual technical and sports fest of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering, Nagpur, was successfully conducted on 22nd and 23rd August 2025. The two-day fest aimed to provide students with a platform to showcase their technical skills, physical strength, creativity, teamwork, and competitive spirit through a wide range of well-structured events.
